pretty petti!

Making tutus is a funny thing for me!  Growing up I never really considered myself a girlie girl.  I had a lot of boy-friends, had a boys bike, never wore dresses or pink, and got dirty...a lot!!  My poor parents!  Over the last 5 years or so I find myself trying to become more feminine as I get "older" (shiver!!!).  Once I had Abby I turned into a hopeless frilly, pink, flower, girle-girl (and I LOVE IT!).  Even still, it is a little odd for me to sit for hours and make a tutu.  I absolutely love doing them, but I have to chuckle at myself every time I do one...that for the tom-boy I used to be I am sitting on my couch in a mountain of colored tulle and ribbon.  It makes me smile every time.  In an effort to make a more frilly and fluffy tutu I made this last one a petti-tutu.  It's basically the same, but with more tulle and more fluff.  The ends have knotted tufts of tulle, which makes it more colorful and fluffy.  This one I made for Lori, and it is ocean-theme colors.  I hope her little girl loves it as much as this reformed tom-boy loved making it
I hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend.  Eat some good BBQ and spend some time with the people you love

bobbles.com!!!!!!!!!!!

What a long and crazy road this has been!!  I could not be happier to finally be able to say that my webpage and store are now open!  With all the new issues and guidelines with Facebook, it could not come at a more pefect time!
http://www.bobblespeanuts.com/
Check it out!  I would love to hear some opinions!
I have to admit that this was a really difficult thing for me to do and be a part of!  Thankfully I found someone great at http://www.scraplesscreations.com/ to help be through the process.  Lori was so patient and helpful to me, and I am sure there were times she did not want to see one more email from me!  I am the first to admit that while I consider myself very computer/internet savvy, I could not do anything with HTML code to save my life!
Hopefully over the next few weeks I will be able to iron out any potential kinks there may be.  I can only assume that (as with anything new) there will be some growing pains, but I am hoping that my husband and myself can be up for the challenge to learning to take care of my new page.
On the creative front I am hoping to start making some more new styles of tutus.  I am going to try out a petti tutu and knotted tutu over the next few weeks and see how they turn out!--I'll keep you all posted with pics!
Maybe sometime before the end of the month I will be able to get outside and enjoy the weather.  I am going a bit stir crazy between doing so much for Bobbles and the fact that it has rained at least a little bit for the last 8 days.  It's starting to get to me not seeing the sun for this long!
Have a great week

busy busy bobbles

What a fun and BUSY spring it is turning out to be!  The website is coming along!  I am very much hoping by the end of the month we will be live, but it is a little premature to set a date yet.  Hopefully by the end of the summer it will be running well and have the little kinks worked out--I know there will be growing pains with this, so hopefully I will learn fast and everyone will be patient with me :)  It will be so much nicer to have an easy and centralized place for orders!
I am also getting prepared for a day-care tag sale to liquidate baby gear and maybe sell some Bobbles inventory :)  I have to admit that as much as I do not want more babies, it is VERY emotional for me to go through all this stuff and get rid of it!  That is really strange for me, because I can usually get rid of almost anything with no issues.  I will have all my baby gear there as well as a table to showcase some of my stuff.  I am also looking into a local outdoor market/craft fair that runs over the summer.  I am hoping to go check it out this weekend and if I like it I may book a table for a day or 2.
In my spare time (HAHA!) I have been still making new things.  I have really enjoyed playing with the new fabrics I have.  Mostly I am making appliques, button covers for pony holders, and fabric flowers with them.  It is fun to do something new!  This is one of the fabric covered headbands that I made with a couple of matching flowers.  I have TONS of fabric and more on the way to be able to do more colors and styles
I am SO thrilled with how this came out!
Have a great week :)

Itty Bitty Bows

Today is Mother's Day, and even though we did not do anything remarkable, I had a most wonderful day with my 2 kids and husband.  My son is almost 3 now, so the terrible 2's are finally starting to die down a little and he is so much more fun to talk to and play around with.  My little Peanut is 11 months, and she has such a great personality that you cannot help but be happy when she is with you.  I am very lucky in motherhood  :)
ahhh...anyhow, I have been keeping very busy with trying to get the webpage done.  It is hard to find time to do such a big project, but it is coming together and I hope that soon all my shopping will be on the webpage and no longer on FB.  I will still post items there for everyone to see, and will still do sales there, but the shopping will all be on the site.  It will be easier for me and a lot easier for customers!!!  :)
Lately I have been working on fabric flowers and button pony holders.  They are not quite ready to show yet, but they will be soon!  What I have also done a lot of is use up some ribbon scraps.  I have lots of great ribbon pieces that are too small to make anything large, but too cute to get rid of, so I started making itty bitty bows.  Most of them are sold individually, but I have a couple pairs as well.  I just love how cute they are, and yet again I find it hard to not give them all to my daughter!!!  These are a few of my favorites so far!

Hope you all had a great weekend.  Too bad they go by too fast!!
